On my right, proud of its half-eaten apple, iPod ’Yankee Doodle’ Touch ! On my left, its frog-legged opponent, Monsieur Archos ’LE’ 605 WiFi ! Victory or defeat, who will crush his opponent ? That is the question...

Why shall we compare these multimedia players ? Simply because both of them are a foresight of what is ahead of us in the next decades : PMPs have become as comprehensive as possible. What else remains to be expected after Video and Audio playback, Photograph viewing and Internet browsing ? Differences are hiding in details such as interface or design. Between the iPod and the Archos, such differences are huge, eventhough both PMPs offer similar features.

This lines will neither be an n^th test of the 605 nor of the iTouch. We only wanted to highlight the strengths and weaknesses of each PMP trough a series of rounds. We naturally tried to be as objective as possible, thanks to the cooperation of Archoslounge and iTrafik (iPod analogue of Archoslounge).
