Both sides have their community of hackers. Thanks to its file browser, the Archos starts to offer a nice deal of interesting features.

We might state for example the Orb software, which allows you to access the content on your PC from anywhere in the world, the (limited) possibility to play flash games, the ability to stream TV or radio programs from the net, or the launching of widgets (with or without the corresponding plug-in)... In short, there is a lot that you can do !

Apple like to lock their product as much as they can, and the iTouch is no exception to that rule. However, hackers’ pressure is so hard that by the time this article was written, the iPod’s firmware protection was about to give in. This means that all of the mods and softwares that were created for the iPhone will soon run on the iTouch. And there is a lot that you can do as well : mail client, GPS software, interface tweaking, NES emulator... Install-a-holics will have stars in their eyes facing so many possibilities and no mistake. But for the moment, nothing has been done yet. Yet, many web developers now offer iPhone/iTouch dedicated versions of their website (e.g. : Dailymtoion or Netvibes).
